Getting to The Royals Shopping Centre

Centrally located and with excellent access to Southend’s famous seafront attractions, The Royals Shopping Centre is easily accessible by road, rail and bus. Use the information below to help you find your quickest route to the perfect shopping experience.

By Car

The centre of Southend is accessible by two major roads – the A127 and A13. Both roads link Southend to the M25.

From the north, Southend can be reached via the A1(M) or M11. Both roads join the M25, which connects to Southend via the A127 at Junction 29.

From the south, Southend can be reached via the A13 at Junction 30 of the M25.

Upon approaching the city centre, look out for signs to The Royals Shopping Centre.

By Bus

The Royals has excellent bus links and is located within a stone’s throw of the main Southend bus station. With direct routes covering much of South Essex, The Royals is easily accessible with regular services arriving and departing throughout the day.

By Train

Situated just two minutes from Southend Central and 10 minutes from Southend Victoria railway stations, The Royals is easy to reach by train.

Operated by c2c and National Rail respectively, both routes offer regular services to and from Southend, with London Fenchurch Street and London Liverpool Street just over an hour’s journey from the two Southend stations.

Trains arrive and depart every 20 minutes at both Southend stations, providing fast, efficient and comfortable journeys to and from The Royals Shopping Centre.

24hr Parking

With excellent parking facilities for both drivers and cyclists, our aim is to make your journey to and from The Royals as stress-free as possible.

Car Park

Card payments only. No Cash accepted. 

Multi-storey parking adjacent to The Royals Shopping Centre offers over 400 spaces for shoppers making their journey by car.

Simple to find and centrally placed, the car park at The Royals is set in a safe environment, with designated disabled bays and a number of spaces allocated to parents with young children.

Paying for your parking space is easy at The Royals, with machines located at the entrances to the car park.

Times & Tariffs

Open 24 hours. Car park stairwells close 30 minutes after the centre is closed. Please ensure you allow time to reach the car park if accessing it via this route.

Up to 1 hour – £1.20

Up to 2 hours – £2.30

Up to 3 hours – £3.50

Up to 4 hours – £4.80

Up to 5 hours – £5.80

Up to 7 hours – £8.00

Over 7 hours – £20.00

Our car park is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.

Please note, our car park has a height restriction of 6ft 2inches (1.88m)

Cycle Parking

The Royals Shopping Centre has three cycle parking areas: outside Vision Express on Heygate Avenue; in front of the zebra crossing on Pier Hill (to the rear of Debenhams); and between the car park entrance and our Pier Hill pedestrian entrance.

Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities

We have Pod Point Open Charge electric vehicle charging on-site for customers.

There are 4 x 7kW charging bays available. Each bay has a Type 2 universal socket. It is free to charge.
