Coronavirus statement by The Royals Shopping Centre
Due to the current situation and in line with the new government legislation, The Royals Shopping Centre stores are abiding to legislation and will be closing non-essential stores until further notice.
This is with the exception of Poundland, Boots , Grapetree and Tesco Express. We will be partially closing the centre, with the only access via Heygate Avenue- opposite Southend Bus Station and also the High Street entrance for access to Grapetree.
Subway will be operating a take-away and delivery service. Vision Express will be appointment only. We will also be closing the public toilets, and in addition our car park will be closed.
The centre is following Government advice closely, and will review circumstances as legislation is announced.
The centre’s team and its cleaning contractors have for some time been carrying out an enhanced cleaning regime and that will continue.
The Royals Shopping Centre manager Dawn Jeakings said: “The wellbeing of our customers and our staff is of prime importance, during this difficult and trying time. We are even more prepared this time around as we now all have more experience dealing with such changes’
“Our cleaners are being appropriately thorough and paying particular attention to surfaces and items such as hand rails, may we take this opportunity to remind our customers to continue to wear their face coverings when coming into the centre- unless of course you are exempt’
“Everyone who works here has been thoroughly briefed on the steps to take to best keep themselves and our visitors protected and we will continue to follow any guidance issued by the Government and its Chief Medical Officer. Wishing all of our loyal customers well and keep safe “
